北卡羅來納州立大學(xué)（簡稱北卡州立大學(xué)或北卡州大，英文簡稱NCSU）成立于1887年，是美國最著名的公立綜合性大學(xué)之一。北卡州立大學(xué)暑期研究實(shí)踐項(xiàng)目，是學(xué)生利用暑假時(shí)間，到北卡州立大學(xué)相關(guān)專業(yè)實(shí)驗(yàn)室，在北卡州立大學(xué)老師的指導(dǎo)下進(jìn)行為期6周的學(xué)習(xí)與研究工作。

　　一、項(xiàng)目簡介
　　（一）項(xiàng)目內(nèi)容
　　NC State professors who participate in the summer program will open their laboratories for the summer research of BIT students. Students will conduct research on either a small independent project or assist an ongoing project in the host laboratories.
Students are required to present their research results jointly with their professors at a research symposium that will be held as the concluding event of the program.
　　Prior to the students beginning work, NC State shall advise all students of NC State’s policies, rules and procedures applicable to the program including the responsible conduct of research.  In the event a student violates any of NC State’s policies, rules and procedures, NC State may dismiss the student from the program and the student shall be responsible for all costs in returning to China.
　　After students complete the program in their respective laboratories, NC State will issue each student a Summer Research Certificate, equivalent to three-credit hours of research experience。
　　（二）英語要求
　　BIT will be responsible for selecting participating students based on the academic performance and proficiency in English. The TOEFL exam is not required, but fluency in English language is absolutely essential.
　　Each student will provide a statement to identify one or two research area(s).
　　（三）項(xiàng)目時(shí)間
　　The dates of the program usually from early July to early August。It will be negotiated by both BIT and NCSU.
　　（四）費(fèi)用及包含項(xiàng)目
　　The total cost of each student for a six-week period will be about US $2,800. The Program cost will cover on campus room and board, a partial meal plan ($200 for about 30 meals on campus), laboratory supplies, NC State student health insurance, local transportation, weekly excursions, library and gymnasium access, employment of a part-time program administrator, communications, and overhead at NC State. The international round trip airfare is not included.
　　The fee for each student will cover the following services at NC State:
　　(i) Room and board: Air-conditioned rooms will be provided in NC State dormitories.  Two students will share each room.
　　(ii) A partial meal plan as described in paragraph 8 above.
　　(iii) Library, gymnastic, and recreational facilities are available on campus and in the dormitory.
　　(iv) Welcome and farewell banquets will be included in the program.
　　（五）支付方式
　　NC State will provide an invoice for the portion responsible by BIT and student. The total will be paid one month before the program begins through wire transfer.

　　二、報(bào)名條件及要求
　　1．我校大學(xué)三年級本科生、大學(xué)四年級保送研究生同學(xué)和全日制研究生，大學(xué)二年級相當(dāng)優(yōu)秀者也可考慮；
　　2．具有良好的英語聽、說、讀、寫能力；

　　三、報(bào)名方法及時(shí)間安排
　　1．有意參加暑期研究實(shí)踐項(xiàng)目的學(xué)生需準(zhǔn)備下列報(bào)名材料：
　　（1）填寫暑期研究實(shí)踐項(xiàng)目報(bào)名表（下載），同時(shí)發(fā)送電子版至 enroll@bit.edu.cn；
　　（2）填寫《學(xué)生短期境外學(xué)習(xí)或活動(dòng)備案表》（下載），學(xué)院簽字；
　　（3）提供一個(gè)或兩個(gè)所要研究領(lǐng)域的明確的英文陳述，同時(shí)提供參加校內(nèi)外專業(yè)實(shí)踐活動(dòng)的證明；
　　（4）本人護(hù)照首頁復(fù)印件（如暫無可先不提交，盡快辦理）；
　　（5）其它材料，如獲獎(jiǎng)證書、公開發(fā)表的論文等。
　　2．報(bào)名的學(xué)生需將材料交到教務(wù)處主樓尾樓教育培訓(xùn)管理辦公室；
　　3．報(bào)名截止日期為12月5日，限報(bào)15人，將選拔3-5名學(xué)生參加項(xiàng)目；
